Top 5 Activities: Outdoor - Indoor- Ice Cream- Seasonal- For the Whole Family

Outdoor: The Beach!

This may seem obvious but we just love the beach and it is the perfect place to take children. Explore the coast by getting your feet wet, building sand castles, flying kites, watching dolphins, and relaxing to the sound of the ocean waves. Our area has so many different beaches that are all within 1 hour of Wilmington; Topsail Beach, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Fort Fisher, Oak Island, Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, and Sunset Beach.

Indoor: The Children’s Museum

The Children’s Museum located on Orange Street in Downtown Wilmington is a great place to take the kids. The activities gear towards a younger demographic of children but there is fun for all ages.

Our Favorite Ice Cream Shop: Boombalattis

There are some great spots around town to grab a scoop of delicious ice cream, but our team loves Boombalattis. They are a local ice cream shop with three locations in our area: The Forum, Downtown Wilmington in the Brooklyn Arts District, and one in Hampstead. As they say…”Ice cream is good. Ice Cream made with local NC Grass-fed Dairy is better. Ice Cream without the artificial flavors and colors is better for you.” They also have some delicious vegan/non-dairy options at each location!

Seasonal: Lewis Farms

Lewis Farms is an awesome local favorite! Lewis Farms is a third-generation family-owned farm. Their retail location is open seasonally at the end of March through the end of June. They offer “pick-your-own” strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, along with a greenhouse with flowers, plants, and herbs, local produce, and of course, their famous homemade ice cream!

Fun for the Whole Family: Jungle Rapids

Looking for a fun activity for the whole family? Look no further than Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park. No matter the time of year, Jungle Rapids offers an awesome time. The park includes a water park (open seasonally), Go Karts, Laser Tag, Mini-Golf, arcade, rock climbing wall, kids indoor playground and more!
